Health Science Associates is working to expand our staff - we would like to add several more full-time positions. We are looking for experienced Industrial Hygienists and California DOSH Certified Asbestos Consultants (CACs) and/or Certified Site Surveillance Technicians (SSTs) and California Department of Public Health Lead Monitors, Inspector Assessors, and/or Sampling Technicians. We are particularly interested in those asbestos and/or lead professionals who are looking to increase their skill sets and become Industrial Hygienists. NIOSH 582 certification is a plus. The Research and Development Industrial Hygienist will focus on implementation of Tesla’s health programs across Tesla research labs and design studios. The incumbent’s main duties will consist of working with engineering and EHS personnel to build out and manage Tesla’s Chemical Hygiene Plan; oversee sampling and exposure analysis at Tesla’s R&D facilities; engage with material engineers to advise on chemical or material selection; work with engineers to implement engineering controls at the design phase for manufacturing or within R&D environments; program management for R&D locations to include respiratory protection, hearing conservation, radiation safety, laser safety etc. Additional duties may include providing Industrial Hygiene and sampling expertise for our battery safety and cell manufacturing operations; providing recommendations for control of health exposures for novel processes; and supporting global health initiatives.

The position reports to the Senior Industrial Hygiene Program Manager. The position will be based in the Bay Area, CA.
