2026 President’s Message
Dear AIHA SVC Members,
Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your 2026 President of the AIHA Sacramento Valley Section (SVC). I’m fortunate to be working with a strong Board, and especially appreciative that Pamela Murcell will continue as Past President and that Simone Sumeshwar will serve as both President-Elect and one of our Directors. Their experience and continuity give our section a solid foundation for the year ahead.
I am excited to announce that over the past three years, our membership has doubled. This says a lot about the strength and relevance of this community. In 2026, my focus is to support our section in living out AIHA’s mission, vision, and core values by:
- Strengthening our technical programming.
- Encouraging collaboration across disciplines
- Keeping worker health and safety at the core of everything we do.
We will continue building relationships with partners such as the local ASSP chapter and expanding opportunities to engage students, early-career professionals, and safety practitioners throughout the region.
We are also excited to bring back the AIHA SVC one-day symposium on March 19, 2026, to be held at SMUD. This will be an important opportunity to share practical solutions, connect with colleagues, and highlight the work being done across our area. More details will be announced as plans are finalized.
Our members are the heart of this section. If you have suggestions for meeting topics, training needs, or ways we can better support you and your work, I encourage you to reach out.
I look forward to working with you in 2026 and to a productive and meaningful year for AIHA SVC.
Sincerely,
Kevin J. Goddard, MPA, CSP
2026 President, AIHA Sacramento Valley Section
