The Gulf Coast Section of the American Industrial Hygiene Association operates by the volunteer services of the Board of Directors.

The Gulf Coast Section has approximately 100 members. Nationally, AIHA membership is approximately 8,500 of which over half are CIH. Regular meetings of the Gulf Coast membership are held on the first Thursday of most months in conjunction with the Gulf Coast Chapter of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP).
Within the local chapter, there are opportunities for committee involvement, networking, and access to local issues of OEHS interest and employment information.
The local sections of AIHA in Texas serve to address local and state legislative issues. In support of research, education and outreach, the Gulf Coast Section holds an annual Gulf Coast Safety & Health Summit with ASSP and collaborates with the Southwest Center of Occupational and Environmental Health at the University of Texas, School of Public Health in producing an Industrial Hygiene Seminar Series.
The Gulf Coast-AIHA is a 501(c)(6) a tax-exempt nonprofit professional association.
