Former AIHA President James C. (Jim) Rock, who was instrumental in the publication of a landmark work in occupational exposure assessment, passed away on Dec. 19, 2021. He was 78.

Caliche, Ltd. has a Technician position available. Entry Level Industrial Hygiene, Safety, and/or Environmental Technician (high school graduate). Individual may hold one or more certifications and/or degrees. Under technical supervision, individual possesses job knowledge skills in sufficient degree to perform various environmental and safety surveys and industrial hygiene worker exposure assessments.

Provide field technical support on assigned project with guidance from supervisor. Responsible for collecting air, water, soil and bulk samples, conducting audits, performing on-site measurements, downloading instrumentation data, evaluating on-site conditions, performing assessments for air contaminants, noise, heat & cold stress, radiation, and chemical exposures. Documents and tabulates the data collected with related environmental parameters, e.g., photography, site plans, collection and review of safety data sheets (SDS), etc. Also provides maintenance of field and laboratory equipment and data entry.

Works under the direction of Superintendent, CIH, CSP, PE, CIE, OHST, Individual Asbestos Consultant, and/or Mold Consultant.
